About Me

My photo
Kathleen V. Butts (Kathy Hardy)
Sandy, Oregon, United States
I have drawn since early childhood and won many awards, I thank my parents and teachers for their encouragement. Prior to the second grade I papered a two car garage with colored pencil drawings of every thing that interested me in the neighborhood. Following high school, Lloyd and I married, and raised two beautiful daughters on our small horse ranch. Reinforcing ones belief in destiny, I returned to my art, and with no formal art education, I set out as I did when I was a child, and painted the world around me, our western way of life. I began painting outdoors, nature was the best teacher anyone could have. I was asked to join a very prestigious gallery. and soon other galleys, and exhibitions throughout the country. Stephan Fine Arts in Alaska, purchased, sold, and, published, my work for many years. Golden Spirit Publishing reproduced my oil paintings in the Giclee` process, the direct, digital imaging onto paper and canvas, the perfect media to capture the detail of my work.
